This is our spot! Frequent this location, often during celebrations and Veterans Day and other yearly experiences. The food is always on point. The pancakes are always fat and the waitress is sometimes funny depending on their mood at the time of your visit. This is a hidden gem in a community. Sometimes we can get a few looks when we walk into the building from guest like we were unicorns. If you’re looking for a great local place to eat, I highly recommend Pelham Diner. I’ve known the owner, Toni Darby, for over 10 years, and she truly puts her heart into everything she does. Our daughters played softball together at Pelham High School, so it’s been great watching her build such a wonderful restaurant. I ordered the Philly steak and fries, and it was absolutely delicious! The menu has a wide variety of options, so there’s something for everyone. A huge thank you to Abby Lombard for the excellent service. It was also special seeing Abby, since my daughter played softball with her as well. Great food, friendly atmosphere, and amazing people. This is our fourth time eating at this establishment. Everytime we come to Alabama we stay in Birmingham so we can eat at this diner. Start to Exit. The hospitality is remarkable. They greet everyone with a genuine Good morning and welcome! They allow you to choose where you would like to sit unless there's a wait. The waitress comes to greet you and get your beverage order immediately. Once they bring your beverage she will ask if your ready to order. The food comes out ASAP because they never want the quality the cooks put into the food to be ruined by waiting in the window. The tiny pancakes are buttery and delicious. The bacon is wonderful. And the orange juice taste sooo fresh!  The food is hands down delicious! Upon leaving they thank you for coming. Thank you to the entire staff. Really great experience here, it was absolutely beautiful on the inside and outside. They had really great employees, it was almost like stepping back into the fifties and sixties, it was a great experience! I had the western omelette which was awesome. It came with hash browns and toast! As you can see from the pictures it was big and it was only right at $10.95 which you can't go anywhere for that. Every time I go to Big Bad Breakfast it cost me, for double biscuits and gravy it costs right around $20, and so this place had the most amount of food for the cheapest price. This great local place makes you feel like you've been on a trip to Mayberry. The friendly staff welcomes and talks to most of the customers as if they are locals. This place is absolutely fantastic! As the owner of a similar place in Montgomery, I have NEVER and I repeat NEVER had a breakfast  close to what we serve up at home. However, this morning I was surprised as all get out... The grits.. Perfect, The bacon 🥓 Perfect.... The biscuit omg the biscuit.... Perfection! The eggs.... Eggzakely I way I love them🤣... They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and the Pelham Diner is a great spot to grab that all important meal. It is a smaller diner, but the service was friendly and the food was good. It has that old school diner feel to it, which I can definitely appreciate. Me and my wife went here for breakfast and enjoyed the food quite a bit. With usual diners the food can be overly salted but this place wasn’t like that. Wow, this was my first time here, and it was super busy, just like a classic diner! The bacon was crispy, but the real star was the pancake--it was practically the size of the plate! I haven't seen anything like this since I left the West Coast, so it was a delightful local treat. Even when it was super busy, the food was fresh and served quickly! I saw a party with 10 people there. Some people say the Diner is dying but you can just look here and see a thriving business. Perfect diner breakfast! Menu has everything you could possibly want. Don't be intimidated by the size of the pancake. It is like vanilla air! I managed half of it with my Patriot Breakfast. Hubby had biscuits and gravy with sausage. Came out faster than I thought possible. Service was excellent. We were well looked after. Great coffee, too! We will come back if we are ever in this area. This is one of my FAVORITE breakfast spots! I would recommend the Patriot meal. It is more food than I can eat in one sitting, but it reheats very well. The pancakes are ungodly huge (they take up an entire plate) and are spectacularly good! The wait staff are friendly and make dining here feel like eating at your Nana's kitchen! Absolutely amazing experience. Everyone was so nice. The food was spectacular. I know it doesn't seem hard to make a good egg but for some places it really is. The eggs were perfect, the grits were great, the toast was delicious. Pancake was humongous. And my favorite part was the cinnamon roll. Oh. My. God. Absolutely the best I've ever had. This place is fabulous.  We're on vacation and our rule is only go to local restaurants, nothing we can have at home.  So we found this dinner, lots of locals eating here.  The waitress was fun and charming.  The food was amazing.  The place was clean.    The biscuits were great.  The best part, Cedric.  He was clean and filling coffee and my hubby made a comment about the basketball hat and Cedric gave my husband a comical dirty look and kept it up through the entire meal. I have been a customer of Pelham Diner for several years and I can say that this is what you wish every business in town was like. The staff is like family, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is the hole in the wall place that has character that can't be duplicated even if you tried. 5 stars doesn't really convey how special and unique this place is. The stories and wonderful memories that have been created here over the years are ones that I will never forget and always cherish. My warm, heartfelt review is the highest honor I could ever bestow on a business and this one is completely deserving of it. If I loved closer, I'd come here every day for breakfast. Great service, food came out quick, and had no problem with any of my food. My husband and I are always looking for new breakfast places to try so we were excited to to try The Pelham Diner.  We were not disappointed and you won't be either! We were not disappointed! This place lived up to the hype of the reviews. We were seated and greeted immediately! It took no time to get our order taken. The food came out warm and correct (minus my husband's pecans). We loved every bite and plan to return. The pancake is massive and one is plenty! Really good local breakfast spot! Nothing fancy, just really good breakfast food cooked really well (pancakes, eggs, meats, potatoes, etc). It is just a small diner restaurant, so I give it 5 stars for the atmosphere because that is exactly what I'm looking for in a diner! The prices are fantastic for the food you get! I will say, check the hours before you go because they serve breakfast & lunch and I noticed an hour between the breakfast serve ending and lunch beginning so a lot of people came in on Sunday morning after 10 expecting to be seated for breakfast, but were turned away.

I would say it’s the best kept secret in Pelham but if you try to find a parking space or a seat at lunchtime, it’s pretty busy, everyone knows this place is a real gem The staff makes it fun and exciting and great food at a reasonable price. if I’m in this area, this is my go to restaurant. Amazing service, great food, friendly and warm atmosphere. The staff are so courteous, friendly and helpful. We were never left in want for anything. The food was delicious and we even got a sweet treat just for being first-timers!  I will be bringing friends, family and clients to this diner! The Pelham Diner is a goldmine for the person who loves hole-in-the-wall places with excellent service, casual atmosphere, and great food!! My husband and I ate breakfast there this morning and were welcomed with a delicious & fresh sweet roll just for being first time customers! All staff that passed our table during busy hours were so helpful with anything we needed, we never had to turn our heads to seek help. One of my favorite places to eat breakfast! They have the best bacon and plenty of it. Also love their jalapeno cornbread and the beans had a Smokey taste. They also had good food for lunch. We were able to go this past weekend my mother, my sister and I.  Customer service was amazing. We actually got a chance to talk to the owner Miss Tony. She was warm and welcoming just like her staff. The food was amazing. I suggest the pancakes. The bacon was sooooo good. This is our new favorite diner! Our waitress was Candy (sorry if I spelled it wrong) and she was wonderful and helpful! We also met the owner Toni and she was so kind! Pelham Diner is a beautiful hole-in-the-wall style buffet restaurant. The food is incredibly cheap for what you get and you can always go back for another round and you will still end up cheaper than just one platter of food at most other restaurants. The food is kept warm, never cold and the cooks and waiters are super friendly and always checking on you. My food was absolutely delicious, though it was a bit on the salty side. The only thing that keeps this from being a perfect 5 stars is the restrooms are in rather poor condition and that could be a turn-off for a handful of people. We visited for the first time last Sunday.  Breakfast was fantastic and priced more than reasonably.  The owner was great, always walking around, checking on the food and service.  You get a free cinnamon roll on your first visit.  It's more like a sweet roll with no icing but delicious to be sure.  Service was great.  There was no wait. Seat yourself style restaurant. On my way to Tuscaloosa, and I needed some breakfast, I found this little gem.  Now, this place has some Southern charm and great hospitality. The staff is super friendly, and I think the entire customer base was just speaking freely and out loud with them my entire stay.  And the place is small, so you gear everything!  The only issue for me is the waitress singing every 80's song out loud.  It got old after a little while. I was hungry.  Looking around, the portions looked to be fairly large.  The pancakes are frickin' huge!  I ordered the Oxmoor breakfast:  three eggs, 2 choices of meats (double patties for me), grits or hashbrowns, toast or biscuits, and a bowl of gravy, Wow!  All of that for $10.95! All the condiments you need are already setting on the table; hot sauce, ketchup, jelly, salt, and pepper.  The food was served quick.  Food tasted good. This location is known for their diner style meat and sides.  As well as their breakfast.  Huge pancakes, you have to try it with blueberries.  The staff is always friendly and their food is always served hot to the table.  At breakfast, the coffee flows and their waitresses are non stop in their hospitality.  The orange rolls are a hidden treat.  Tried the 4 vegetable plate today.  The lunch is served off a hot table cafeteria style and its homestyle favorites.  Tried the baked broccoli and cheesy rice which every bite was creamy.  The winner was their bread pudding.  Surprisingly, there were chunks of pineapple and peach. This is a no frills cafeteria style diner. The food was good. I wished my portion of grilled fish had been a little larger but it was cooked well and tasty. This is a very traditional meat-and-three like you were once able to find in almost every town in the South. While the atmosphere is basic, it is exactly what one expects. We had a fine lunch and both commented on how we could have been in any number of small towns where we have had a similar meals in the last fifty years. Love this place. Good local breakfast spot. The Oxmoor Breakfast has it all. Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, hash browns with biscuits and gravy. All quality foods and reasonable prices.

Really wanted to try breakfast but didn't get there in time. Got two lunch plates to take home so I could try a variety. Service was super friendly and helpful. The internet was down so it was cash only that day. Prices are very reasonable and in line with other meat and threes. Vegetables were served in large portions and well seasoned. Fried chicken was good but had been holding a little long. Chicken and dumplings were as good as any I've had. I'll be back again. Hopefully I can make it for breakfast one day soon.

Server was absolutely amazing as was the food.  Cinnamon rolls are the best I have ever had.  I had the pioneer breakfast which included one HUGE pancake, eggs, hash browns, and bacon.   Coffee was also excellent.  Definitely a must for breakfast!

This was my first visit and they give you a free cinnamon roll which was really nice. Service was great and the food was so good. Homemade down to earth good breakfast food.
